Four law enforcement sources involved with the investigation told NBC News that Kodak Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was among four people shot early Saturday outside a restaurant in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 24-year-old Florida rapper and three others were shot; two were taken to a hospital by ambulance and two were self-transported. All of them are in good health.

Around 2:45 a.m., police responded to gunshots in the 400 block of North La Cienega Boulevard.

Though the cause of the dispute outside the club was not immediately known, an LAPD spokesman said the victims were shot as they exited the building.

Black's attorney, Bradford Cohen, told NBC News on Monday that the shooting began with an "unprovoked attack" on someone Kodak was with. When the rapper and security arrived to help that guy, "an unidentified assailant fired several shots at them."

Kodak was hit in the leg and is in stable condition, according to Cohen, with a complete recovery expected.

According to the LAPD, the incident occurred outside The Nice Guy restaurant during a celebration following a Justin Bieber concert, with NBC News reporting that the rapper was among those shot. According to TMZ video, Black was posing for photos with a group of people when fighting erupted, eventually resulting in gunfire.

Bieber has previously performed a private concert in West Hollywood's Pacific Design Center as part of a city-wide celebration leading up to the Super Bowl in 2022. The pop sensation, his wife Hailey Bieber, Khloe Kardashian, Drake, and Tobey Maguire were among the A-listers inside the afterparty, according to The Hollywood Reporter, though none were present during the incident.

An altercation occurred at 2:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

"A physical altercation involving multiple individuals occurred at the place, according to the preliminary investigation."

Gunshots were "fired by an unknown suspect," according to the report, who then fled.
