Airtel Africa PLC will pay interim dividend to shareholders in dollars... this is how much investors will get

Airtel Africa is a telecommunication company that sells phone data, phones, and other telecommunication products in Africa. This company is also big in Nigeria in a market where it’s competing against the Glo network.  

 

Airtel board members approved a dividend payment of 2 cents as interim dividends to its shareholders. This means investors will get 2cents for each share of Airtel that they own.

 

According to the company, Airtel dividends will be paid in dollars and there is an option to also receive it in GB pounds or Naira.

 

For Nigerian Airtel investors, 2 cent dividend means shareholders will receive N11.46 naira at a conversion rate of 1 dollar to 573 Naira.

Airtel’s most recent quarterly report recorded $1.16 billion. The operating profit was $380 million and the post-tax profit was $192 million.

London and Lagos, 1 November 2021: Airtel Africa a leading pan-African provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, with a presence in 14 countries across Africa, today announces that the Board has confirmed an interim dividend of 2 cents per ordinary share which will be paid on or around 10 December 2021. The Interim dividend will be paid in U.S. dollars, although Airtel Africa plc offer their shareholders the opportunity to elect to receive their dividend payments in GB pounds or Nigerian naira via currency elections.

 

The dividend timetable dates are below:

  Last date for GB pound currency elections:

26 November 2021

On or around 10 December 2021

 

Details regarding the default currency and options on currency election for the dividend, and the currency exchange rates that will be applicable in determination of the Half Year 2021/22 interim dividend payment to any shareholders that qualify for and have elected to receive the Half Year 2021/22 interim dividend payment in GB pounds or Nigerian naira will be issued in due course.
