American Virtual Cloud Technologies Inc. (AVCT) appoints Xavier Williams as its new CEO

Veteran AT&T executive Xavier Williams has been named the new CEO and member of the board of directors of American Virtual Cloud Technologies Inc., starting next month.

After working for more than 30 years at AT&T as an executive, Williams is ready to move to the next phase of his career and hopes to make impactful additions to the cloud communications giant.

In a press statement, Williams expressed his joy in joining the AVCT team. “Thanks to the efforts of Darrell and the entire team, AVCT is extremely well-positioned to win the fast-growing cloud communications and IT services industry,” he said.

“I look forward to working with the team to build on the strong foundation that has been laid, continuing to deliver exceptionally white-glove service to our enterprise customers and to capture the tremendous market opportunity before us,” Williams said. “Together we plan to drive sustainable, industry-leading growth that benefits employees, shareholder, and the communities in which we operate.”

Williams will replace Darrell J. Mays as AVCT CEO, but Mays will continue to serve on the company’s board as the executive vice-chairman. He describes Williams as one who adds “significant value” to a company.

“I have known and admired Xavier for over 20 years and have seen first-hand the significant value that he has brought to AT&T and its customers,” Mays said in a statement. “I am excited he has agreed to join AVCT as CEO, which is another major achievement in our strategic growth plan.”

American Virtual Cloud Technologies Inc. (AVCT) is a cloud communications company that is specialized in creating IT solutions and services for many technologies, especially cybersecurity. The company has a customer base of 900 enterprise customers. According to Mays, the outgoing CEO, AVCT has the “resources, infrastructure, team, and culture needed to capture significant market share.”

In a statement AVCT’s board chairman, Larry Mock says Williams’s “experience and capabilities” will be highly useful and helpful in taking the company to the next level.

“Xavier’s extensive leadership experience in telecommunications and technology combined with his proven track record of performance should help AVCT solidify our service delivery and strengthen our strategic alliances, particularly our relationship with AT&T,” said Mock.
