Astroworld concert victims seeking $2 billion in damages from Travis Scott, Live Nation, Apple and Drake.

The Astroworld concert that took place at the NRG on November 5, 2021, lead to a crowd crush that turned deadly, as a result, 10 people have died from the chaos.

Lawsuits have been piling up since the incident and today another $2 billion lawsuit was filed against Travis Scott, Drake, Apple Music, Live Nation, and others on behalf of 282 plaintiffs.

“The defendants stood to make an exorbitant amount of money off of this event, and they still chose to cut corners, cut costs, and put attendees at risk,” Henry said in a statement Thursday. “My clients want to ensure the defendants are held responsible for their actions, and they want to send the message to all performers, event organizers, and promoters that what happened at Astroworld cannot happen again.”

It seems like the victim’s lawyers are working hard to be sure that Travis Scott, Live Nation and his camp pay the price.  The prosecutors will ask for a lot of money but it will be up to the judge or the jury to decide what happens.

“Early reports from the investigation of the Astroworld catastrophe indicate that the premises were arranged in a fashion that best served Apple’s online streaming of the concert at the detriment to concertgoer safety,” the lawsuit states.

“Apple Music had cameras, camera stands, cameramen, and metal barriers surrounding each; these cameras effectively split the premises both horizontally and vertically by the metal barricades,” the paperwork claims. “The placement of cameras streaming for Apple Music’s broadcast effectively limited many concertgoers’ means of exit; this dangerous condition would inevitably prevent individuals from dispersing.”

A second lawsuit representing 125 plaintiffs was filed earlier this week, asking for $750 million in damages. The lawyer, in that case, Tony Buzbee, expects that the various suits will be “consolidated in a single courtroom in Houston” (where Astroworld was held), maybe “in the next 60 days.”

A lot of people attended the concert and Travis Scott should expect more lawsuits in the near future.
