Who Is Peter Mbah?

Peter Mbah who hails from Enugu State was born into the family of Chief Gilbert Ekete Mbah on the 17th of March 1972. His hometown is Ashishi Owo, Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State. 

Where Did Peter Mbah School?

While growing up Peter Mbah attended Army Children's School, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, and later proceeded to Owode high school, Owode Egba in Ogun state. After this he proceeded to the University of East London, United Kingdom to acquire a bachelor of law in the year 2000 after which he came back and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to bar. He didn't stop there as he moved on to his master's degree in Maritime and Commercial Law which was awarded to him in 2001 by the Lagos State University. As Mbah pushed on for more knowledge, he went ahead to get his MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Barcelona Spain, and went to Saïd Business School, University of Oxford where he got his Post Graduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation. In 2021 he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Political Science from the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, 2021.

Peter Mbah Career 

After Peter Mbah graduated from the University of East London, United Kingdom where he acquired his bachelor's he moved down to Nigeria to participate in the Nigerian Youth Service Corps in Udeh and Associates law firm in Lagos. After this, he moved into building businesses such as “Peter Mbah Investments Limited” in 1992. The firm aims at providing services in the oil and gas sector. He also founded GILPEL Industries Ltd whose aim is to import general goods—this went on from the year 1993 to 1997. After this, he founded the FOCUS International Schools in Lagos State. He is also the founder/CEO of Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd.

Peter Mbah Political Career

In 2003 Peter Mbah was appointed the Chief of Staff after which he was appointed the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development under the administration of Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani. He was also a member of the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee, Enugu State Executive Council, and the Enugu State Executive Council. Aside from that, Peter Mbah also served as the Chairman of the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee's Subcommittee on Legal matters, Chairman of the Enugu State Tenders Board, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Enugu State Insurance Company. After attaining such height Peter Mbah decided to contest under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) where he won 790 votes out of 807 cast by party members to be the flag bearer for the party which led him to victory after winning his rival with 160,895 votes to beat Chief Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party (LP) who scored 157,552 in the just concluded 2023 gubernatorial election held in Enugu State.
