Coca Cola bought Bodyarmor for $5.6 billion and Kobe Bryant’s estate gets $400m from $6million investment

Kobe Bryant invested millions of dollars in Bodyamor and became a board member before he died in a helicopter crash in January 2020.  His investment is now worth $400 million dollars after Bodyamor was sold to Coca-cola.

Bodyarmor is a sports drink that's made to give top athletes the best version of themselves. Coca-Cola has decided to get into the energy drink business, as a result, the company acquired Bodyarmor instead of starting their own energy drinks brand. The deal is worth $5.6 billion and Kobe Bryant owned a 15% stake in Bodyarmor before he died.

Kobe Bryant’s wife Venessa Bryant is the person in charge of Kobe’s estate and that means she will be in control of the $400 million payout.

"I put my skin in the game," Bryant told Forbes in 2014, after his hefty investment.

Coca-Cola is a publicly-traded company with the stock symbol KO and is selling for $56.17 per share with a $242.62 billion market cap.
