Daniel Craig Wroughton CMG is a British actor who was born on March 2, 1968. He was born to art teacher Carol Olivia (née Williams) and Merchant Navy midshipman and steel erector Timothy John Wroughton Craig (1943–2020) in Chester, England. His father was the property owner of the Ring o' Bells in Frodsham and the Boot Inn in Tarporley, both in Cheshire. Craig has an older sister, Lea (b. 1965). He is of French and Welsh ancestry, with relatives such as French Huguenot preacher Daniel Chamier and Sir William Burnaby, 1st Baronet. Grace Matilda Wroughton, his great-great-grandmother gave him his middle name Wroughton.

Craig has had 3 previous relationships before his current relationship with his present wife who is an actress and mother of his daughter.

His wife’s name is Rachel Weisz and they began dating in 2010. They got married a year later in a very private wedding. It was reported that on 1st September 2018, they had their first child together and welcomed a beautiful baby girl.

Craig began his career on stage after enrolling at the National Youth Theatre in London and graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1991. He made his cinematic debut in the drama The Power of One (1992) and the family feature A Kid in King Arthur's Court (1995), but it was in the drama serial Our Friends in the North that he got his breakthrough role (1996). He appeared in the period film Elizabeth (1998) and the action film Lara Croft: The Adventures of Lara Croft: Before acting in the crime thrillers Road to Perdition (2002) and Layer Cake (2004), as well as the historical drama Munich, she starred in Tomb Raider (2001).
