Definition of Cash & Cash Equivalents (CCE) in finance

Cash & Cash Equivalents (CCE) is an accounting term found on the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement of a company. It is simply the total amount of cash and assets which are equivalent to cash (savings accounts, liquidity lines etc) that are held by the company. The purpose of the Cash Flow Statement is converting entries in the Income Statement into Cash & Cash Equivalents, in order to feed into the Balance Sheet.
