Dikko Umar Radda: From SMEDAN DG to Katsina Governor-Elect

WHO IS DIKKO UMAR RADDA?


Born on September 10, 1969, Dikko Umar Radda is a man who through his hardwork and perseverance, has risen through the ranks of the Nigerian politics scene to become the governor-elect of Katsina state.

We’ll take a quick look into his life and career from the very beginning up until this present moment.

He was the Director-general of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).


EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION 




His formal education began in 1974 when he enrolled at Radda Primary School, where he studied until 1980. Following this, he attended the Zaria Teachers College from 1980 to 1985, where he earned his Grade Two Certificate. In 1986, he gained admission to the Kafanchan College of Education, and in 1989 he graduated with a National Certificate of Education (NCE). In 1992, he enrolled in Bauchi's Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where he graduated with a B-Tech. Agric Economic and Extension (Hons) degree. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, accepted him as a student in the following year.


In 1998, he defied all odds by obtaining not one, but two degrees - a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics and a master's degree in agricultural extension and rural sociology. Umar Radda went on to ABU Zaria in 2005 for yet another master's degree, this time in International Affairs and Diplomacy. Once more in 2015, he completed a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology at the same institution.


GOVERNORSHIP CAMPAIGN


When Dikko Umar Radda decided to run for the position of Governor under the All Progressive Congress (APC) Party in Katsina, he started to make strategic campaign moves towards achieving his political ambitions. 

His campaign was well received by thr people of Katsina as he went to various parts of the state, meeting with people and informing them of his plans for the state. 


His campaign strategy included tacking issues like Job creation, youth empowerment and infrastructural development. He was able to rally support from religious leaders, community heads and youth organizations because his plans for the future aligned with them.


In the end, Dikko Umar Radda emerged as the winner of the governorship election with a significant winning margin above the other contenders. His vision for Katsina state is to create a vibrant and prosperous state where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed. He believes that by working together with the people, he can achieve this goal and leave a lasting legacy of good governance.


Dikko Umar Radda’s Victory is a testament to how hard he has worked and how committed he is to the service of the people. It is now left to be seen how he will deliver on his promises and turn his vision for katsina state into a reality
