Governor Yahaya Shuts Down 'Gala Houses' in Gombe To Uphold Morality

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has taken decisive action by issuing an immediate order for the closure of all nightclubs, commonly referred to as 'Gala Houses,' within the state.

This directive, aimed at upholding societal standards and safety, was communicated through a statement released on Monday by Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Secretary to the State Government.

The decision comes as a response to numerous complaints from the public concerning the continuous occurrence of immoral and criminal activities, as well as security breaches, transpiring within these nightclubs.

To enforce this directive effectively, Governor Yahaya has instructed all relevant security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, and Operation Hattara, to ensure full compliance and promptly initiate actions.

Among the specific establishments affected by this measure are: Jami’a Gidan Wanka, situated at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; White House Theatre (Babban Gida), located at New Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; Gidan Lokaci General Merchant, positioned at Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe; and Farin Gida Entertainment II, found at Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road, Gombe, among others.
