How much does it cost to rent a Bugatti for a day?

Bugatti is probably the most powerful supercar ever manufactured. As of 2018, the cost nearly $20,000 to change the oil in a Bugatti Veyron, the same amount it cost to rent the supercar for a day.

Bugatti is well known for its powerful engine, and outrageous price and maintenance. In August 2018, a 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 that was auctioned with Mecum, sold for $950,000.

It costs between $20,000 to $25,000 for a full day rental, and about $1,000 per hour, according to Las Vegas rental company Royalty Exotic Cars. The car rental company, in its videos, reveals how tedious it is to do routine maintenance on supercars like Veyron, Ferrari 488, and Lamborghini Huracan.

In 2018, Royalty CEO Houston Crosta told CNBC that the cost of renting its 1,200-horsepower Veyron was so expensive. The Bugatti model which has a $1 million Mansory Edition upgrade is very costly to rent because it is rare and it “depreciates at almost $1,500 per mile.”

While mileage depreciation is a determining factor for the efficiency of Royalty’s rare Veyron, reports from CNBC revealed that it wasn’t such a big deal. According to the reports, a representative from the MPH Club rental hub in Miami said many of the people who rent Veyrons don’t necessarily drive them. They rent the cares for video and photoshoots.

A representative from the MPH Club told CNBC that the company only approves rental requests to customers with security deposits of $150,000 to $250,000. Also, the company does a proper background and financial check before approving rentals. It told CNBC that it doesn’t just approve any random person with $20,000.

Royalty also has strict rules that govern their rentals, such as:

• Does the renter have proper insurance that will cover the actual cash value of this car?

• Does the renter have the wealth or resources to cover the Bugatti in case the insurance company decides to not pay?

The car rental company also strongly advises that production companies, film crews, and conventions have policies that properly insure the Bugatti, even though it encourages driving the Bugatti. Renters that don’t drive long miles to minimize the risk of any damages on the car, and mileage depreciation.
