Career

After his awesome performance at the AC Milan Youth team in the inaugural Champion Youth Cup, in 2008, he was sent on loan to Dijon FCO for the 2008/09 season. He performed so well at the season that he earned a talent scout session in the summer edition of the World Soccer Magazine.

In 2009, the team also sent him as a loan to Lille OSC. While his performance was not as outstanding as it was in the Dijon FCO, he has a successful time at the Ligue 1 club.

His loan spell continued until the next season when he was sent again as a loan to AS Monaco FC. However, he did not complete his season with the team before sent again as a loan to Saint-Étienne. He arrived at Saint-Étienne in 2011 and subsequently signed a permanent deal with the club in December 2011. In no time, Aubameyang skills and talents found him out.

In the 2011/2012 season, he topped the Ligue's 1 scoring chart and claimed his first trophy in the following season.

Also, his exceptional skills and ability earned him two remarkable prices. First, he was featured in the Ligue 1 team of the Year, and second, he was named Ligue 1 African Player of the Year.

His success at Saint-Étienne further increased his popularity and in the next season, he moved to join the Bundesliga team, Borussia Dortmund. At Dortmund, he signed a five years contract with the team for a price he refused to disclose. He made his first debut in the team on August 13 2013 and finished his first season with 16 goals. He also won the DFL-Supercup trophy alongside.

Aubameyang completed his second season with about 46 appearances and 25 goals. His excellent results make the team offer him a contract extension until the end of 2020.

After signing the new contract, he made history by becoming the first player to score in his team’s six opening matches. This outstanding result continued until his 8th match. Aubameyang finished his third season with the team with 25 league goals, a feat that made him the 2nd highest goal score in Bundesliga.

In 2016/17, he helped the team score the winning goal that made it claim the DFB- Pokal and subsequently became the highest goal scorer.

During the 2018 January transfer window, Aubameyang left Dortmund to join the EPL Arsenal after signing a contract worth €56 million with the team. After his first debut in the team, he scored 10 goals in 13 appearances and began the second season in a 3-2 win over Cardiff City.

His outstanding goalscoring and striking skills continued and at the end of his second season with the team, he emerged as the best goal scorer. His performance also earned him the golden boot award, however, he shared this with Sadio Man and Mohammed Salah, both of which are from Liverpool.

In his first game in the 2019/20 session, he scored the only goal that helped the team emerge as a winner over Newcastle United.

At the international level, Aubameyang played for Gabon in March 2009, and at the 2012 African Cup of Nations. He also played in the London 2012 Summer Olympics, 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying, and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
