President Tinubu Arrives France for the Global Financing Pact Summit

Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu makes his first official trip as a president to France for the Global Financing Pact Summit.

His special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake confirmed his arrival in Paris, France in a circular released on Tuesday, June 20. He was welcomed at the airport by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Kayode Laro, and some other top government officials from the Nigerian Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in France at about 6.47 pm local time.

The President is set to receive detailed briefs from Ambassador Kayode Laro, the Permanent Secretary, Adamu Lamuwa, and other Nigerian officials at the Summit. The president also has meetings scheduled with leaders and multilateral institutions.

This Summit is to be held in Paris for two days starting on Thursday, 22nd June to Friday, 23rd June. The aim of this summit is to look at opportunities to restore fiscal spaces to countries that are faced with difficult short-term financial challenges, especially the most indebted, and also organize new and inventive ways of financing countries with struggling economies.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to be back in Nigeria on Saturday, June 24.
