ProLocum, a Digital Marketplace for Medical Professionals Launches in Nigeria

ProLocums, a healthcare staffing platform, has officially launched its healthcare staffing in Nigeria.

The firm is focused on addressing challenges affecting the healthcare sector and connecting healthcare professionals with locum opportunities that match their skills and availability.

The company said that its goal is to bridge the gap in the healthcare industry by offering diverse opportunities for medical doctors, medical officers, dentists, pharmacists, midwives, auxiliary nurses, pharmacy technicians, dental assistants, optometrists, nurses, medical lab scientists, physiotherapists, and veterinary doctors.

The Nigerian healthcare sector has been facing different issues, such as inadequate coordination, a shortage of skilled professionals, and issues concerning salaries and welfare.

The challenges have led to many healthcare workers going abroad to seek employment, thereby creating a bridge for the local health workforce.

A report from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) shows that about 3,000 to 3,500 doctors graduate from medical college annually. And even with the significance of the profession, some are still unemployed.

In the past years, Nigeria's doctor's unemployment rate has reached 65% while other health practitioners like nurses, midwives, and others are facing similar challenges.

So with all these challenges, ProLocums is seeking to address issues faced by healthcare practitioners in Nigeria.

The platform is user-friendly which makes it easy to find opportunities on locum.

CEO of ProLocums said,

  • We are excited to introduce ProLocums to the Nigerian healthcare community.

  • Our platform is designed to empower healthcare professionals by providing them with convenient and efficient access to locum opportunities that align with their expertise and schedules.
