Treepz Online Vehicle Rentals Company Expands Into Kenya

Treepz, a ride-hailing company that started in September 2019 in Nigeria, has extended its operation to Kenya. With this recent development, Treepz operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya.

Over the years, Treepz has connected vehicle owners with renters on its marketplace. Aside from that, Treepz also operates a corporate offering for businesses and schools where it provides commuting services for their employees or students.

With a good marketing plan, Treepz was able to raise $1.2 million in the last 12 months, which enabled its operation to kick off in Kenya. However, Treepz has many investors, including MoAngels, Unpopular VC, Roselake VC, GIIG Africa Fund, Goodwater Capital, and BKR Capital.

As the company launches its service in Nairobi and later Mombasa, the team is pleased to announce that Mr. Samar Patel is the new country Manager for Treepz Kenya.

Samar has handled a similar position with SWVL Kenya, with 18 years of sales, transportation, and technology experience. In his leadership, Treepz Kenya is expected to innovate and grow in the region.

For some time now, Treepz has focused on the vehicle rental service, also known as Business Treepz. This service will enable Treepz Kenya to sign in high-profile companies to provide commuting services for their employees or students.

Companies involved presently include firms like Abacus Schools, OAK House School, Twiga Foods, and Diamond Trust Bank; it is believed that these partnerships demonstrate the expansion of Treepz's innovative solution towards assisting the public with vehicle rental services for businesses, and the company is positive that this growth will continue as the firm grows.

Speaking on the announcement, the Co-founder and CEO of Treepz, Onyeka Akumah, says: "We are thrilled by the addition of Samar to our team and the launch of Treepz Kenya in Nairobi today. This was made possible with the support we received from our current investors amid a turbulent 2022.

"Also, after winning the GSA African Award in Cape Town last year, we received funding from its funding arm – GIIG Africa Fund and that was also very timely for us. Today, our efforts are focused on building a centralized solution across the 4 countries we operate in and providing Africans with excellent mobility services, for their personal and business needs. We hope this will be the experience Kenyans will enjoy with our service and remember, as we build a world-class mobility business for Africans and the rest of the world".
