Technical analysis is the technique of analyzing an asset based on the statistics of its trading pattern and history. This includes things such as:

• Support & Resistance Lines
• MACD

Technical analysis is used to determine where the stock is expected to head next. Meaning, stock analyst use it to examine if there is a downtrend or an upward trend depending on the stock's past performances.  This is another way to see if there is value in stock other than just using the fundamentals.
