He first played professionally in Greece until he was drafted #15 by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013 NBA Draft, and has since played for the team to date. In his rookie season with the Bucks, he was named All-Rookie Second Team, earning his nickname, “The Greek Freak.” In the Eastern Conference of 2015, Giannis was named the Player of the Week. He was a participant in the BBVA Rising Stars contest in 2014 and 2015, the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, and the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend Skills Challenge contest.
