Guinness Plc's share price increases to N71.20 resulting in over N2 billion profit in market value

Guinness Nigeria Plc's share price rose 1.71 percent to N71.20 a share at the end of yesterday's trading session, bringing the company's market capitalization to N155.96 billion.

Investors' bullish attitude drove buy-interests, driving the FMCGs(fast-moving consumer goods) company's value up by 171 basis points.

As a result of the surge in the business's shares, the market capitalization of the company increased by N2.63 billion at the end of trading on the Nigerian stock exchange.

The price of the mentioned brewery's shares grew from N70.00 per share at the start of the trading day to N71.20 per share at the market's close which was the highest price traded at that time, representing a 1.71 percent rise in monetary terms of N1.20.

Summary of the stock market's performance

The buy interest seen in Guinness Nigeria Plc's shares boosted the company's market capitalization from N153.33 billion to N155.96 billion at the close of the day's trading, bringing the gains to N2.63 billion.

The company's stock has increased 82.56 percent year to date, starting at N39.00 and now trading at N71.20. The stock is presently trading at N74.50, which is 4.43 percent below its 52-week high. Investors who acquired the company's shares at their 52-week low trading price of N24.10 per share have made a 195.44 percent profit.

During the day's trading hours, 75 successful deals resulted in the exchange of 626,657 ordinary shares of Guinness Nigeria Plc, valued at N44.77 million.

The NGX All-Share Index and market capitalization both fell 0.11 percent from the previous trading day to settle at 46,843.09 index points and N25.25 trillion, respectively, at the end of the day's trading activities.
