Presidential Aspirant, Atiku Says Rising Insecurity A Result Of Unemployment.

Presidential aspirant and former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, released a media statement titled, "World's Highest Unemployment Rate: Time To Help Nigeria."

In the statement released on Sunday as a response to the Bloomberg report on Nigeria's rising unemployment rate, he warned that the rising unemployment rate is directly related to the insecurity plaguing the country for years now.

He advised the Nigerian government to deal with cases of uneducated children by paying monthly stipends to poorer families to encourage them to send their children to school and take care of the basic needs at home.

According to him, the best way to get rid of the title of the world's highest unemployment rate is through incentivized education, saying educated citizens are more employable and therefore more independent.

He suggested for the poorer families, to receive a stipend of N5,000 every month through their BVN and NIN with the criterion that they can keep their children or wards in school.

He believes that worse unemployment rates will be unlocked if we continue like this and not get the out-of-school children back into the classrooms they belong. Nigeria has a population of 13.5 million children out of school.

The former VP urged the government to enroll boys who are above school age into the public works program. According to him, idleness channels the energy of youth away towards destruction, which is why Nigeria is now the third most terrorized nation on Earth.

According to recent reports, Nigeria's unemployment rate currently stands at 33.3 percent, making it the country with the second-highest rate of unemployment in the world.
