Nigerian EdTech Klas raises $130,000 in Angel Funding Round

Klas has raised $130,000 in an angel funding round led by different investors including Tola Adesanmi of Spleet, Odunayo Eweniyi of Piggyvest, Nadayar Enegesi of Eden life, Njoku Emmanuel of Lazerpay, Leonard Stiegler of Jumia, Voltron Capital, Cabal Fund, Velocity Digital, HoaQ, among others.

 

 

Klas is a Nigerian Edutech platform that allows people to establish an online school and provide online classes to expand the online teaching platform. Nathan Nwachuku and Lekan Adejumo founded Klas in 2021.

 

The tech company said they have 2000 creators on its waitlist who released V2 and worked with prominent companies worldwide. Creators can teach different subjects, including coding, design, cryptography, business, and languages on the platform.

 

The startup company mentioned that the new funding helps it double down on platform innovation and power online schools globally as it moves its mission to unlock the power of knowledge sharing.

What's the focal point?

 

Nathan Nwachuku, the CEO of Klas, described the platform to Shopify for online teaching. He said, “Klas is a platform that allows anyone to start an online school and deliver live lessons. Think of Klas as Shopify for online teaching.

“Our software supports everything you need to teach online, including payments, scheduling, community, community, analytics, and video conferencing.”

* Klas was founded in December 2021 to enable creators on the platform to teach different subjects like coding to design, crypto, business, languages.

* Nathan co-founded the platform with Lekan Adejumo (CTO) whom he met via a YC matching platform when he was 18. they bonded over a shared vision to invent the future of online education.

* The edtech startup recently partnered with Artikl; a UK-based startup construction tool, to automate the job seeking and application technique through Alto to provide global job opportunities.
