Facebook Takes Down Lara Trump's Interview With Donald Trump

In line with suspending all Trump content, Facebook has removed an interview with Donald Trump from Lara Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts. Lara Trump invited the former President to her show, The Right View on Tuesday evening, but shortly after the interview went on her social media, it was taken down by Facebook.

Lara posted an email she received from a Facebook employee which explains that the content violated the company's ban on Trump.

It read, "In line with the block we placed on Donald Trump's Facebook and Instagram account, further content posted in the voice of Donald Trump will be removed and result in additional limitations on the accounts."

After a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol on the 6th of January, Facebook announced that it was suspending Donald Trump's Instagram and Facebook indefinitely. The CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company weighed in on the risk of ongoing violence if Trump was allowed on their platforms, as he has used the platforms to peddle misinformation, and incite violence, all of which go against their policies.

The company was joined by other social media companies, YouTube, Snapchat, and Twitter, with Twitter permanently suspending the former President.

Whether or not Donald Trump will ever be welcomed back on Facebook and Instagram streets remains unknown as the company's Oversight Board is yet to reach a decision. Facebook's Vice-President of Global Affairs and Communications Nick Clegg, said in a blog post early this year that the company thinks its important for the board to reach an independent judgment on whether or not the suspension should be upheld, as its decisions cannot be overruled, not even by the CEO.

A review of over 6,000 posts Trump put on Facebook found that more than one-fourth(1500) included lies related to COVID-19, the elections, and hateful statements about his critics. According to a description of the video that was taken down, the former President hinted at a 2024 rerun.
