Warren Buffett Adds $12.1 Billion To His Wealth in 2021

Warren Buffett, the former richest man in the world adds $12.1 billion to his net-worth in 2021 alone. The value investor saw his wealth soar to $100 billion putting him firmly in position as the sixth richest person in the world, a place behind Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, who's number five.


Buffett's wealth surge is due to the rise in Berkshire's stock, as their Class A shares closed at $399,650 last Wednesday, a record high for the multinational conglomerate. 99% of the billionaire's wealth comes from there as he owns about 249,000 shares of the company.


The 90-year-old businessman started his investment journey in the early fifties as an investment salesperson. 10 years later, he was in charge of Berkshire Hathaway where he steered the company away from its textile background to becoming a holding company.
