Digitizing Nigeria’s Transport System

Transportation in Nigeria is an essential part of the country's development and this can be heavily assisted when there are good roads to further convey vehicles, products, and even humans.

However, the country has been experiencing little growth in that area as it has a vast population that is spread around both in the rural and urban areas. Nigeria has been lacking some deficiencies in infrastructure deficit, modern digital technology, modern transport policies, lack of professionalism, and lack of modern communication equipment.

Nigeria for a while now has been losing huge amounts of money due to these loopholes and this is a critical sector for any genuine economy that has the interest of the masses at heart. To increase the growth, Nigeria has to invest more into revitalizing the transport system to boost growth which will attract more investment from both foreign and local partners.

In a bid to boost the transportation system, the government needs to invest more in the use of modern digital technology. Not only that, the government needs to hire well-trained professionals with the right skills, knowledge, and exposure.

On the other hand, Nigerian roads have been a hub of evil as we hear reports of evil daily on road accidents, robberies, kidnappings, and other harassment from officers who stay at checkpoints. Other parts involved lack of modern technology and infrastructure usage, poor training and retraining of personnel, and inadequate communication devices.

To handle these situations properly, the implementation of modern digital and automated technology systems is needed. This will assist in forecasting and adapting swiftly to challenges as they arise.

Digitizing Nigeria's transport system will help in building traffic management systems which will boost customer security and make the function productive. Additionally, automated technology will strengthen and maintain the quote-to-invoice process, and improve internal and external efficiency and user satisfaction.

It will also help in detecting the needs and transforming them into solutions and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

Digitizing Nigeria's transportation system will also create an atmosphere for innovative technologies such as mobile devices and applications, cloud-based services, integrated security surveillance and monitoring systems, autonomous transportation, and blockchain technology that will provide greater efficiency.
