Nigerian Stocks: List of Dividends announced in 2022

As audited financial statements become available, firms will propose dividend payments to their shareholders based on the recommendations of their boards of directors.

It's also crucial to keep track of these announcements to figure out who is eligible for the dividend, when it'll be approved, and when it will be paid. The payment of dividends has an impact on stock prices.

MTN Nigeria


MTN promised one free share for every 20 shares purchased in December 2021, with a maximum of 250 free shares per investor.

According to the firm, those free shares will not be distributed to investors until January 31, 2023, or after one year of holding, as stated in the public offer terms.

"Investors who keep their shares for 12 months until January 31, 2023, will be eligible for the promotional offer of '1 free share for every 20 purchased' (up to a maximum of 250 shares)," PrimaryOffer wrote in an email to investors.

"MTN Nigeria announced its Audited Financial Results for the year ended December 31, 2021, and proposed a final dividend of 8.57,000 Naira per share. The proposed dividend, which will be paid on April 28, 2022, is payable to all shares allotted under the Offer for Sale."

For 2022, the dividend yield is N13.12(6.58%). The qualification date is 6th April 2022 and the payment date is 28th April 2022.

 

Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc

Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc's Board of Directors has suggested a total final dividend of N123.45 million to be delivered to the company's shareholders as a final dividend for the period ending September 30, 2020.

All of the company's outstanding 1,899,157,107 ordinary shares will receive a final dividend of 6.5 Kobo per share. This results in a total dividend of N123,445,211.95 to be handed to the company's shareholders.


The dividend yield is N0.07(3.68%). On March 25th, 2022, the dividend will be paid to all who qualified on the 14th of March 2022.

 

PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc

PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc shareholders have approved a dividend of N992.62 million, or 25 kobo per share, for the fiscal year 2021.

The final dividend per share is larger than the 10 kobo dividend issued at the conclusion of the 2020 financial year, according to the company's 73rd annual general meeting in Lagos.

According to the corporation, sales for the period climbed by 23% to N82.578 billion from N66.99 billion in the same period in 2020, resulting in a 143% increase in profit before tax compared to a loss of N7.939 billion in the previous year.

The dividend yield is N0.25(3.68%) and the payment date is 28th January 2022 for all who qualified on the 7th of January 2022.

 

United Capital PLC

United Capital PLC will make a total dividend payout of N9 billion to shareholders for the full year 2021, equivalent to N1.50 per ordinary share, up 114% from what it paid in 2020, according to a disclosure reviewed by PREMIUM TIMES on Friday.

United Capital, whose revenue reached a new high of N11.3 billion in 2021, issued a dividend to shareholders of N4.2 billion for the previous financial year.

The dividend is conditional on the proper withholding tax being deducted and shareholders' approval at the next annual general meeting. According to the statement, shareholders whose names appear in United Capital's register of members as of the close of business on March 8, 2022, will be eligible for the cash prize.

The dividend yield is N1.50(12.50%) and the payment date is 23rd March 2022 for all who qualified on the 8th of March 2022.

 

UPDC Reit

Over the last three months, UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust has been the 30th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (Nov 23, 2021 - Feb 22, 2022). UPDCREIT has exchanged a total of 167 million shares worth NGN 669 million in 2,413 transactions over the period, with an average of 2.65 million shares traded per day. For the same period, a volume high of 46.4 million was recorded on January 27th, while a low of 11,040 was recorded on December 16th.

The dividend yield is N0.18(4.93%) and the payment date is 10th January 2022.

 

Vitafoam Nigeria Plc

Vitafoam Nigeria Plc shareholders are anticipated to accept a dividend of N1. 876 billion for the company's fiscal year ending September 30, 2021, up from N87.590 million paid in 2020.

This translates to a dividend yield of N1.50(6.54%) and the payment date is 4th March 2022 for all who qualified on the 11th February 2022.
